The trial court found that defendant violated identical terms of his three probations. On appeal, the court of appeals held that, notwithstanding the provisions of Rule 27.7(c)(2), Ariz. R. Crim. P., a probation violation could be based on a violation of an oral probation term if the defendant admitted he received notice of the oral term. State v. Robinson, Ariz. , 864 P.2d 1056 (App. 1993). We granted review to determine the propriety of this interpretation of Rule 27.7(c)(2). We have jurisdiction pursuant to Ariz. Const. art. 6, § 5(3) and Rule 31.19, Ariz. R. Crim. P.
